Father Kubicki on Catholic Podcast

By Joseph J. Rutchik
June 10, 2008

The New Evangelization is in full swing at the Apostleship of Prayer.  Since the launch of the new website, the prayer group has been using the web to create awareness of this ministry among Americans - especially teens and young adults.  Fr. Kubicki is encouraged by the prospect of evangelizing to whole new generation.

"It's really exciting for us to be able to get the word out about the Apostleship of Prayer," he said.  "Since many younger people don't know about the Apostleship of Prayer we want to use the media in every way we can to get the word out to them," he said.

This emphasis on media led to contact with Catholic Mountain, a Catholic men's website run by Joe Klinker.  Through this site, Klinker is committed to providing an oasis of strength and faith in an increasingly secular world.  He uses podcasts, vodcasts, and articles to help men realize their role in the world and in their families.

In addition to prominent writers and theologians like Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Jeff Cavins, and Peter Kreeft, the site also features men like Dan Stevenson of the Miami Dolphins and entrepreneur Tarek Saab.

The interview was a smash.  Klinker, like many others, admitted that he had no previous knowledge of the Apostleship of Prayer and was delighted to learn how the group was connected the Church through the Holy Father's monthly prayer intentions.

Fr. Kubicki also tied the Daily Offering Prayer into men's inherent desire for accomplishment (and their need for discipline).

"I think the temptation that many men face is that we get a good idea and then we make all kinds of promises and we try to commit to a big program," he told Klinker.  "The best advice is to start small and be faithful to it."

After the podcast, Klinker had nothing but praise for Fr. Kubicki.

"There are few things better than finding excitement in prayer and I was on my knees the moment the interview was over!" Klinker said.

Fr. Kubicki was also happy with the show, in particular with Klinker's reaction.

"So many people don't know we exist and when they find out who we are and what we do they get very excited.  That really comes out in the interview."
