Our own Father Kubicki recently returned from giving a retreat on the Sacred Heart of Jesus to the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi in Lacon, IL. Sister Adriania Zdila, the Provincial Superior, had nothing but praise for our National Director.
"His reflections on the Sacred Heart of Jesus were so fitting, beautiful, and possible to put into our lives," she later said.
"The Invocations of the Sacred Heart," as the retreat is called, draws upon the Invocations of the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a traditional prayer that allows the faithful to contemplate the nature of Jesus Christ. Using these invocations, Father Kubicki illustrates how Scripture and history reveal a God who loves us deeply and wants to be united with us in Heaven.
"[Father Kubicki's] knowledge and love of Scripture and the encyclicals of John Paul II added to the richness of this sacred time."
The late Pope John Paul II spoke frequently on the litany, and Father Kubicki incorporates the pontiff's reflections into the retreat.
"This prayer," the pontiff once said, "recited and meditated, becomes a true school of the interior life, the school of the Christian."
Since Father Kubicki developed this retreat back in 2004, it has received an overwhelmingly positive response. The Cloistered Carmelite Nuns, the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Sisters of Life have all hosted Father Kubicki's retreat. He has also given the retreat at three different locations to the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus.
While he is always busy, Father Kubicki makes retreat direction and public speaking a high priority. His event schedule is listed on the Apostleship of Prayer website for visitor convenience.
