Only love, only love can leave such a mark...
And only love, only love unites our hearts.

"Young Christians of every denominational stripe are working
to establish community and coherence in every sphere of culture,
driven by a desire to feed their hunger for a faith that matters now..."
- Colleen Carroll in The New Faithful, p. 48-49
The trend is this: Those of us in our 20s and 30s tend to be disconnected from the Church. Most religious groups report a difficulty in keeping active community members past their high school and college years.
Why is this? I think many of us know why from our own experiences. There comes a point as we enter from adolescence into the realities of adulthood when faith and God can seem, if not irrelevant, disconnected from our day-to-day lives. How does the faith of my childhood (if I had one) matter for my studies, my career, my relationships now?
A good question. It's the question the Apostleship of Prayer is most interested in asking. And the answers to this question are what we're interested in living.
The mission of the AoP is to encourage Christians to make a daily offering of themselves to God for the coming of God's Kingdom, and specifically for monthly prayer intentions the pope gives to the Church through the AoP. This habit of prayer encourages a Eucharistic spirituality of solidarity with the Body of Christ and with all people, locally and globally, and of loving service to others. Nourishing this spiritual program is the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
A love that unites our hearts. A faith that matters now. I invite you to find out more about the "simple, profound way of life" of the Apostleship of Prayer. Buck the trend.
